Cold Shower Knockout ChallengeTaking cold showers in lieu of hot showers has extensive benefits from relieving depression to burning fat. It’s called “cold therapy” and despite its name it has been quite a hot topic recently.

Some of the list of benefits include:

  • Easing stress
  • Depression relief
  • Increased alertness
  • Refined hair and skin
  • Improved Immunity and circulation
  • Stimulation of weight loss
  • Speeds up recovery of delayed onset muscle soreness
  • Reduction of inflammation in the joints

Here is the knockout challenge that I am putting to you….

30 Day Cold Shower Knockout Challenge

For 30 days take cold showers. You must stay in the shower for at least 2 full minutes without ever using hot water. In your two minutes you need to soap and shampoo in order to be done.

Here is what you can expect to happen. The first 10 days will suck. Days 11-through 20 your body will adapt and days 21 through 30 will be so benefit inducing that you will consider going past 30 days.

Why a Cold Shower Challenge?

When you start your day with a tough challenge you can get a big win early. You’ve only been out of bed for 15 minutes and you have already accomplished something difficult. It makes the rest of the day start feeling easy.

Willpower is like a muscle. The more you excersie that muscle the easier it gets. Cold showers are a bit like torture and it will require early morning will power to do it.

You train your brain to just knock out difficult tasks out without debating about them. At first you will stand next to the ice cold shower and ask yourself “what the hell am I doing?” “Is this really worth it?” What you’ figure out after a few days is that its best to just jump in and get it over with.

Ready for the Challenge

You can see my 30 day Cold Shower Knockout Challenge Results here. FYI I am still taking them which is really all you need to know.

So now I put it to you to take on the challenge, are you ready for the Cold Shower Knockout Challenge?

Let me know your thoughts and results in the comments below.

I’m half way through DAY 16. Not so bad now. Can’t lie the first week was HORRIBLE! Then it got a bit easier. If you can get through the first 3 days you will be good.

The last 2 weeks I have been the most alert person in the AM. My boss thinks I am on crack!

Great job. Yeah the start of the challenge is def the hardest. 16 days is a nice stretch. How are you feeling about completing the whole 30?

      Hey James,

Totally doable. if you can’t do 2 minutes, try 30 seconds. Its all about getting started. If you can do it, then there are benefits to reap.

Step up your game my friend…I challenge you!

    Hey PKO,

Tried this challenge this morning and chickened out. HAHA! I might have to dial the time back to like 30 seconds and work my way up. I love the idea of this.

    Thanks for the challenge
