Hitting the snooze button is the worst. Sure you can get an extra 8 to 10 minutes of sleep, but all your actually doing is prolonging the inevitable and making yourself more sluggish.
What happens when you hit snooze:
After you smash the snooze button and fall back asleep, your brain starts its sleep cycle again. When the alarm goes off again, you are more likely in a deeper part of your sleep cycle, which makes you feel more shitty then you did when the alarm first went off.
Resisting the snooze button has its benefits:
- Less groggy throughout the day
- More productive mornings
- More time in the morning
- Feeling of accomplishing a hard challenge early

30 Day Snooze You Lose Challenge
For 30 days no hitting the snooze button. You must set your alarm, turn it off once when you wake up, and get out of bed…no snoozing! You are also not allowed to go back to bed after you get out of it.
Here is what you can expect to happen. The first 15 days are going to be pretty hard, especially if you are a snoozer. After day 15 it will get a lot easier and you will start feeling the benefits of starting your morning immediately upon waking up.
